# Cogram meeting privacy: how the notetaker handles meeting data

## What does Cogram do?

Cogram is a software tool that takes notes, summarizes, and tracks action
items in virtual meetings on Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams. To do
so, the Cogram user invites their personal Cogram Notetaker to the meeting.

**No audio or video recordings.** Cogram transcribes meetings to generate a
meeting summary, bullet point notes, and identify action items. No audio or
video recordings are stored after summarization. Cogram can be configured to
automatically discard transcripts after summarization.

**No use of data for AI training.** No meeting data is used for training of
artificial intelligence systems.

**Disabling Cogram.** If you would not like Cogram to take notes in your
meeting, remove the Cogram Notetaker from the meeting, or ask the host or
Cogram user to do so.

## Who can see Cogram's notes?

**Access controls.** Cogram's meeting notes are, by default, only visible to
the Cogram user, the person that invited Cogram to the meeting.

**How can I view Cogram's notes?** If you are not the Cogram user but would
like to receive a copy of the notes, ask the Cogram user (the person that
invited Cogram to the meeting) to share the notes.

## How are meeting notes secured?

**Encryption.** Cogram uses industry-standard security policies, including
Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.3) for in-transit and AES-256 for at-rest
encryption of data.

**Third-party audits.** Cogram is SOC 2 Type II compliant and goes through
regular third party audits.
